About Main Street AI

Main Street AI is a free weekly newsletter and website about practical AI for small business owners: the salon, the contractor, the bookkeeper, the shop on the corner.

Who writes this

Main Street AI is written by Jack Reeds. Jack writes for owners who run a business and have about ten spare minutes, not for people who work in tech.

Every guide is checked against the vendor’s own pricing and documentation before it goes out, and every article carries the date it was last updated, so you know when a price or feature was last confirmed. Where a tool is not worth the money, or a job still needs a person, the guide says so.

What we cover

Most AI news is written for tech companies and investors. We write for people who run a business and have about ten spare minutes. Every guide and issue answers one question: which task can AI take off your plate this week, and how?

  • AI tools worth paying for, and the ones to skip
  • Step-by-step workflows for marketing, customer service, bookkeeping and admin
  • Real examples of how small businesses are using AI
  • Plain explanations of AI news that actually affects small businesses

How we write

  • Task first, tool second. We start from the job that eats your week, not from whatever launched this morning.
  • Plain English. No jargon without an explanation.
  • Honest about limits. If a tool is not worth it, or a job still needs a person, we say so.
  • Checked facts. AI tools and prices change quickly. We update our guides and tell you to confirm current pricing with the vendor.
